Hands on or Hands off?

‘Grope An Artist’
With artist Julia Riddiough
Sunday 12th June 12-6pm 2016
Art Car Boot Fair Brick Lane London

Join artist Julia Riddiough at The Art Car Boot Fair Brick Lane on Sunday June 12th 2016, all hands on deck as this year as it’s all about the hand. Yes a bit of Slap and Tickle! There’ll be thrilling things to do with your own hands including HANDS ON OR HAND OFF? ‘GROPE AN ARTIST’ cop a handful with artist Julia Riddiough.

Groping not your thing? Then take a peek at ‘Photographing Girls’ by Julia Riddiough art that grabs you instead! – a collection of found images in a special limited edition handmade box set. We are told sex sells, but exactly what kind of sex sells? These images sell more than just products they sell us concepts of sex. We see that the media as commercial organisations use stereotypes to sell us things that we don’t really need and these stereotypes create a false sense of ourselves; how we see, how are able and allowed or made to see. Ultimately defining who we are and how we should live.

Julia Riddiough is a British artist experimenting with the archive looking at the space between meaning and perception. Riddiough is also the founder of A Brooks Art; curating shows reflecting cultural themes that are both critically challenging for audience and participants alike.
